Fishing Report For: Jun 07, 2009
Last day of the Mako Mania and it was a foggy one. Seas were pretty good but it was hard to see anything due to the fog. A front had moved by so the fishing wasn't as good as Saturday but we still managed to still catch a few. We ended the day with 4 Blue Sharks and 3 Makos. We released all the fish over the weekend, in hopes they get a little bigger for our next tournament!

This was the second day of the Mako Mania, but it was are first day out and I think I speak for everyone when I say that it was ROUGH! Sea's were a good 6-8 most of the day but started to lay down in the afternoon. The rough weather didn't stop the good fishing because it was off the hook! Through out the day we caught around 25 Blue Sharks and 5 Mako's. All were release and they all were around the 100lb mark! Great day on the water!

We went out for our first trip of the year. We decided to go Shark fishing but before we did that we wanted to stop by the Hambone and see if we could catch some Blue Fish since we knew that is what the sharks enjoy as their mid-morning snack. We were able to mugg up somewhere around 40 of them all around the 15lb mark, which was a nice start to the day. We didn't move far from the Hambone and were all ready to go Shark fishing, and let me tell ya that they were every where! By the end of the day, the crew was running inside when they heard the reals go off because they were tired of doing it. We probably ended the day with 30 Blue Sharks, all released!

First day of the 2008 Mako Mania tournament we got set up and the action started. We released 6 blue sharks before noon. About 1:30pm we had a big hit and for about a minute we had a big mako on. He jumped 3 times and corkscrewed and got wrapped up on the main line and was gone. We all think it was the winner but thats fishin.

We went out for our first trip of the year on Tuesday and Shark fishing is officially here. With all the shark trips coming up we wanted to make sure everything was running smooth and just to make sure our fishing game was on! We started out fishing for some blue fish around the ham bone since we knew that is what Sharks prefer as their morning snack and we mugged about 45 all were around the 15lb mark. Then we went on to testing our Shark skills and let me tell you they were thick!!! It got to the point for some of the guys, they were running inside when they heard the reals going off. We ended the day with a total count of about 33 Blue Sharks, not bad for our first adventure of the season! If this is any sign of how the year is going to be, it sure is a good one!
